You want methods and materials that work. That’s why we use the A Beka Book curriculum to provide comprehensive, quality curriculum and materials written from a Christian perspective. Now more than ever, each child needs a strong foundation in both academics and character. Our goal is to provide the children in our care the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in today’s world.
During your family’s orientation here at Camelot Christian Academy, we will provide a school handbook which gives an overview of the high standards of behavior we expect from each of our students. Included is also a copy of our operating policies.
At our elementary school division we limit the size of our classes to ensure that we can provide optimum child to teacher ratios. Limiting our class size allows our teachers to provide each child with more individualized attention. Children are allowed to learn at their own pace with the same teacher throughout their time with us. As your child progresses through each grade level, the teachers can effectively monitor the student’s progress and offer specialized instruction as needed. Parents are responsible for ordering the required A Beka Book materials for their child. Additional Christian based material will be incorporated into each child’s curriculum.
Elementary classes begin each morning promptly at 8 AM. Class dismissal is at 2:30 PM. We do offer a wonderful inexpensive after school enrichment program where each child can take advantage of our tutoring program, use the time to complete homework assignments, and participate in enrichment activities provided by our staff.
The elementary division is open daily except for dates noted on our calendar. A copy of our calendar will be provided at orientation and the calendar is always kept up to date on our website. The daycare will be open daily except for major holidays. Any child who needs daycare during school closings may attend for a small fee.
Progress Reports will be given out every 4 weeks, Report Cards will be given out every 9 weeks. All parents should review their child’s report card to determine their child’s progress. The report cards will indicate where the student is doing well and where a child may need additional parental assistance.
Additional classes and tutoring are available during the summer months for any student that needs additional help in a subject. Classes will be Monday through Friday from 8 AM until 12 PM. Summer camp is available in the afternoons from 12 until 5 PM.
All students aged three and up will begin their classroom day by stating pledges to the American flag, the Christian flag, and to the Holy Bible. Each day after the pledge, a letter of the alphabet will be highlighted and a bible verse using that letter will be learned. The verses the children learn will be recited at graduation.
Throughout the year the children participate in many special events, parties, and celebrations such as Christmas, Valentine’s Day, field trips, and birthday parties. Parents are encouraged to participate and be active in all of our special activities.
You will be so proud watching your child develop mentally and spiritually in our Christian setting.
